Tuesdays are my long days. I wake up at 5 or 530 usually and babysit my nephew til 3. After that I usually hit the gym and head home to clean, make dinner, and do my thing. Today I will be celebrating Passover with some amazing neighbors and friends of mine! After getting my butt kicked at crossfit yesterday I think I may just be okay with taking today off from my usual regiment. Until tomorrow, friends, stay strong!

Bright and early this morning I had my 1-on-1 at Twin Town Crossfit in Minneapolis!! I got by butt kicked. It was a short workout and really more of a foundational intro, but man was it intense! Today marks day 6 of hopefully a new lifestyle. Once again I’m trying to control the substances and food and all the naughty things around me. I feel fantastic though. I’m still using Dr. Mao for guidance and inspiration. Feel free to email me with questions or comments on my current plan! – otherwise I will continue to reveal my choices and health tips as I post each day! Stay strong friends!
Some mornings you wake up feeling tired and lazy. Today was one of those mornings for me. It’s hard to always feel motivated and happy, but the important thing is to know a handful of things you can do to bring you to a better place. For me, working out is probably the best thing to clear my mind. I just got to my family’s house and blogging at the moment seems impossible (probably why I’m rambling). A few other things that have the power to put me in a better mood and boost my energy include going for a walk without music, taking a bath, making tea, and listing in my head three things I’m grateful for. I’m off to lunch with the family and then to the gym before work! Enjoy your day friends. Stay strong!
I got to spend my early morning with a great friend of mine, I couldn’t ask for a better way to start my day. : ) After my morning rituals I met my mom at Sky Zone Indoor Trampoline Park in Oakdale, MN to plan for the exciting new yoga classes she will be teaching starting april 3rd!! “Sky Yoga” will be available Wednesday mornings and will be taught by my lovely mother, Lyne. After our yoga pow wow it’s time for some baked chicken and veggies and a workout before I head into work! Have a good weekend friends. Stay Strong!
Hello hello. Ok friends, hopefully I can be a good boy and get into the habit of posting daily. Figuring out what to post and when to post and just taking the time to do so has been a little bit of a process! I had some hosting issues for a few weeks, making it impossible to post, and then even after fixing the bugs, I just found myself too lazy or unambitious to actually post!! I will do my best to give you a little taste of my life daily, even if it seems trivial. I also must say I’ve been very lazy in my health and diet regiment for the last month, turning my excitement from health and fitness blogging into feelings of embarrassment. ANYWAYS… today started off with some morning rituals (meditation, tongue scraping, etc.), hazelnuts and turkey for breakfast, and a nice work out! Until tomorrow friends. (actually though). Stay strong!
Sorry for my extended vacation friends! When I got back from my trip I was having host issues and was unable to post for a week or so! Anyways, I’m back.
After an amazing trip with amazing people, it’s time to get back on the grind. The past week has been filled with shoots, casting calls, work-outs, and some much needed family time. I’m also getting ready to travel for some shoots soon, and will potentially be taking on a new position teaching yoga for a health and fitness company. That’s all for today! My random health tip for the day: Drink hot water with lemon every morning to boost metabolism and to assist in the body’s ability to detox!
I’ve been in St. Martin since Saturday as some of you know by now. This island is incredibly beautiful and I have some of the most amazing hosts in the world. My stay has been truly unbelievable thus far. This place and the people around me have had a very calming effect on my mind and way of thinking. I was told to lose my socks and watch when I got here. People only use their car horns to say hi. I’ve been to other islands and places where people are “relaxed” at all times, but St. Martin is just in their own zone. It’s great. I run every morning when I wake up. I’ve been indulging in all kinds of local delicacies, Presidente Beer, red wines, and chocolate, and I feel great! Its hard to really think about health and diet here when you eat local and fresh at all times, you feel the trade winds and saltwater on your skin every day, and you’re surrounded by healthy, happy, loving people. If I never return to the states you’ll know why. Good night friends. I’ll talk to you soon. Stay happy and healthy!

I’m off to St. Martin for a week! I’ll probably post here and there. Diligence and health may stay in MN while I’m on vacation, we’ll see. Still going strong with Dr. Mao and my checklist. My skin has gotten worse over the week which I can attribute to detoxing. From giving up my vices I’ve felt very emotionally worn throughout the week. As a side note, last night someone asked me about my “addictions” in regards to a PSA photo shoot and their concerns for my representation of their message. This blog will develop as time goes on to encompass my entire lifestyle. I just so happened to decide to actually dive into blogging at a time of change in my life. So as far as my “addictions” go, I’m simply trying to find balance again in my life. Living in a Western society we all have vices and addictions, it’s just whether or not we choose to acknowledge them. I am choosing to acknowledge mine. I may or may not be an alcoholic or be a drug “addict,” but I am however able to recognize when my life is out of balance. My focus on detoxing and health isn’t new to me, I’ve done things like this before through my years of yoga. Anyways, I just wanted to clarify for those who don’t know me, the “why,” as I proceed from here. So long! Stay happy friends.
Today was one of those days where I just wanted to give up. I found myself frustrated with almost everything and in a nutshell, I felt depressed. As I detox and deprive my body of all of the substances and sugars and processed foods it was used to, my mood takes a hit. Around six o’clock I was driving in my car with a friend and suddenly my mind was fixated on smoking pot, smoking cigarettes, eating McDonalds, and drinking wine. After running some errands I finally made it back to my dads. I made myself a late dinner and hit the gym. Running and lifting saved me today. Fasting, detoxing, and giving something up really comes down to the will power to push through the difficult times. I know that when I’m sad or angry or depressed, the gym is the best place for me to go. The gym is just one tool I have to get me through these times. I’m rambling, but it feels good. Another Dr. Mao tip for this week was to go on a 20-minute walk every day. Despite being about 30 below, that felt necessary as well. Ok friends, until tomorrow. Stay motivated. Don’t give up on yourself.
